What is a Domain and why do I need it for my website?
A domain name is your websites identity, the name your clients/visitors will remember.
All domains are based on the Domain Name System (DNS) and are divided into different levels. Top-level domains are the most common: com, gov, edu, org, net ... there are 20 generic top-level domains and 248 country code top-level domains.
Second-level domains are often created by a company and are the names directly to the left of .com, .net, and the other top-level domains.
Sub Domains are domains which are part of a larger domain, these can be created from your hosting control panel, or example: www.mail.yourdomain.com, mail would be the Sub Domain.
