Worm attacks Facebook and steels 45,000 login credentials
A malware computer worm –dubbed Ramnit – is the cause of the attack on Facebook, it has stolen 45,00 login details mainly from UK and French Facebook users. This piece of worm malware has been around since April 2010 and has previously stolen bank details.
Facebook has posted details on their blog saying that they suspect that the attackers behind the worm Ramnit are using the stolen credentials to login to victims’ Facebook accounts and to transmit malicious links to their friends, thereby magnifying the malware’s spread even further .
